The protection of the environment and the well-being of employees are equally important for the Hungarian domestic textile and clothing companies

The "TEX2GREEN webinar II" held on 31 May 2021, addressed the possibility of putting the textile and clothing industry on a sustainable path. One of the flagships of Hungarian home textile production, Naturtex Kft. and  Unicon Zrt., a supplier to the furniture industry, were also present at the event. Both presentations emphasized the importance of environmental protection, energy efficiency as well as  the social responsibility and the well-being of employees.

The Association of Hungarian Light Industry has implemented as a lead partner an EU/Hungarian government-funded GINOP (Operative programme for economic development and innovation) one-year project titled TEX2GREEN. The project’s main objective is to improve the labour market adaptability and sustainability in the textile and clothing manufacturing sector in Hungary.

Circular Point – together with other partners, like Calida Hungary, the University of Debrecen, the University of Óbuda, the Scientific and Technical Association of Textile Industry and MGYOSZ-Business Hungary – contributed to the project by showcasing the circular and sustainable business solutions, best practices and industry initiatives in the textile, clothing, leather and shoe manufacturing industry around the world.

As a closing event of the project, a webinar was organized on 31 May, 2021 where the project partners presented their findings and two Hungarian textile companies, Naturtex Kft. and Unicon Zrt. were showcasing their green and sustainable products and business solutions.
